2025-26 4K enrollment will open soon, however, you can sign up for Little Paws now! All applications will be processed in late May/early June. By enrolling your child in Peshtigo's 4K program, you will automatically get emailed updates and registration information for the Little Paws Program. Enrollments will not be processed without uploading/emailing the student's birth certificate and proof of residence (utility bill, lease agreement, or driver's license with parent's name and current address). Contact PELC office staff with enrollment questions at 715-582-3762.
The Peshtigo School District offers 4-year-old kindergarten to any child who resides in the district who is 4 years of age on, or before, September 1 of the given school-year. If you have questions or concerns about your child's readiness for 4-year-old kindergarten, please contact the school to discuss your options. We are here to help make this transition as seamless as possible.
Is my child ready for 4K?
This is a very common question that parents ask before the start of each school year and there are a lot of things to consider before making this decision. Have they spent a lot of time around other children their age? Have they attended a daycare, preschool or 3K program already? Do they speak in full sentences? Can they begin to identify some colors and shapes? Do they have a late summer birthday? A lot of factors play into a child's maturity and academic readiness and children come into 4K with a variety of experiences. The following links may also help to answer some questions:

The program includes a strong focus on parent-school communication with regular family outreach opportunities and conferences. Our curriculum follows the Wisconsin Mode Early Learning Standards. We provide a balanced, hands-on approach, so your child can learn through play. A focus on learning through play allows children to gain skills in all areas including: social-emotional, cognitive, creative expression, early literacy and self-help. "Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood." - Fred Rogers
