Re-CONNECT in Fall 2020
In September 2020, the district shared its progress in three main focus areas, including actions taken and next steps planned:
- Learning, Teaching and Curriculum
- Examples of actions taken: Life Skills class added to Middle School; strategic hires of PELC Associate Principal with a school counseling background and HS Counselor with substance abuse counseling experience
- Facilities
- Examples of actions taken: Facility and Enrollment Studies completed by Performance Services Inc. and UW-Madison; formation of District Technology Team to support teachers in the use of instructional technology
- Collaborative Partnerships
- Examples of actions taken: Partnership with Peshtigo Chamber of Commerce to host a Community and Career Expo; expansion of Peshtigo HS Vocational Program to 54 local business partnerships for work experience opportunities
Re-CONNECT was held virtually on October 6, 2020. Drew Howick from Howick Associates returned to plan and facilitate the discussion. The meeting began with a recap of CONNECT and presentation of the progress made in addressing the priorities from CONNECT. The meeting concluded with feedback from the participants, an assessment of our progress, and identification of priorities. Facilities ranked as the #1 priority of the community, staff and parents who attended. Below is a summary of the priorities and feedback provided:
