The Peshtigo School District reviews and assesses student achievement and growth data, as well as other indicators of success such as graduation rates and college and career readiness. Many data pieces can be found on the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction website: wisedash.dpi.wi.gov/Dashboard.
The WI DPI also provides annual District and School Report Cards that include data on multiple indicators for multiple years across four Priority Areas: Achievement, Growth, Target Group Outcomes and On-Track to Graduation.
The report cards also provide course and program participation information for grades 9-12 for public schools and districts. According to the latest DPI report cards for 2020-2021:
- The Peshtigo School District continued to "Meet Expectations" through the pandemic.
- Among CESA 8 school districts with similar enrollment sizes (900-1,300), Peshtigo had the third-highest district score.
- Of the top 10 largest enrollment districts in CESA 8, Peshtigo had the second-highest "On-Track to Graduation" score of 86.7, behind only Oconto Falls' 88.5.
- Of all 27 CESA 8 school districts, the Peshtigo School District had the #1 highest student participation in Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate courses: 18.4% of PHS students successfully completed at least one AP course.
Peshtigo remains a highly desirable district of choice in Marinette and surrounding counties, with the 6th highest open enrollment rate out of 27 CESA 8 school districts.
Open enrollment allows families who live outside of the Peshtigo School District boundaries to apply to attend Peshtigo schools. Out of the five CESA 8 school districts with higher open enrollment rates, only one is similarly sized to Peshtigo (Wittenberg-Birnamwood); the other four (Niagara, Laona, Lena and Gresham) have much smaller total enrollments.
